Munson Lakes Office
DESCRIPTION & SUMMARY
The City of Howard Lake has acquired a blighted property, acquired grants to assist with the demolition and remediation of contaminated soil. Right-of-way has been established to provide for a multi-modal trial to connect downtown to the Wright County Fair Grounds, Memorial Park and Codger's Cove Campground.
Munson Lakes Nutrition has agreed to purchase the property and construct a new office building to serve their feed mill operations.
JUSTIFICATION
The City has identified this property to redevelop based on specified criteria including increasing investment in the downtown district (Munson Lakes will build a new office), the removal of blighted and vacant property, addressing environmental concerns via remediating contaminated soil and providing an important pedestrian connection from downtown to a key recreational area of the community.
