Snow Plowing / Winter Parking

Snow plowing occurs when snow accumulations reach 2 inches. Typically crews are dispatched between the hours of 2:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. To facilitate plowing, no parking is allowed on public streets from 2:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. between November 1 and March 31.

In performing its snow plowing activities, the city will take all reasonable precautions to minimize damage to private property. The city will replace or repair any mailbox hit or sod damaged by a snowplow or truck. The city will not replace or repair of any mailbox damaged from pressure of the snow being pushed against the mailbox.

To ensure fire hydrants are visible and easily accessible in case of emergency, citizens are encouraged to "adopt a hydrant" near their home and to keep snow shoveled away from the hydrant to the street. This will greatly speed the response time, should a fire emergency occur.
